Early Years Foundation Stage
Welcome to Early Years at Kingsway Community Trust.
We have a busy, creative, active and imaginative EYFS team, and we're here to support you and your child as you begin your school journey with us.
What does a day in Cringle Brook look like?
Children enjoy a wide range of activities throughout the school day including selecting their own play and joining with others as well as working in small groups with an adult to learn specific skills.

Playing indoors and outdoors allows our children to explore, learn, take turn and build friendships with others. The adults enjoy getting involved in the children’s play and share lots of good ideas of how they can enhance their creations and play ideas.
The school day also helps our children learn how to manage their own emotions, wellbeing, hygiene and caring for the classroom. We always work as a team to help each other.

Storytimes and songtimes are a key part of the children’s day and we love when Story Bear brings a new story for us to enjoy. Reading stories is so important for our reading skills but also for our listening and attention skills and language development.

We invite our parents in for story time too and the children's smiles say it all!

Children also get involved in outdoor learning lessons, completing tasks in nature and the world around them. The children love hunting for minibeasts, mud painting and cloud watching amongst many other exciting outdoor activities.
Our setting has an friendly, open-doors ethos and our staff are available to talk to parents at the beginning and end of the day. Parents are always welcomed into school and encouraged to discuss any concerns they might have.
We keep parents informed about what is happening in our group times through the half termly curriculum information sheet as well as the homework that we share every week.
