Some pupils went to the Book Bench launch this week at Hunters Bank. They were accompanied by Katie Riddle, the artist that helped to design our book bench.
The book benches are part of the Read Manchester campaign from Manchester City Council and the National Literacy Trust to promote reading and boost literacy levels throughout the city.
The campaign calls on schools, community groups, libraries, businesses and residents to get involved and encourage reading in all Manchester communities, to help improve the life chances of children and young people in the city.
The BookBench Project is part of a year-long programme of Read Manchester activities to get the city reading.
